Effective today, the Field Operations Directorate is realigning the organization and structure of our domestic regional, district, and field offices. The purpose of the realignment is to: Increase our capacity for conducting interviews; Improve how we adjudicate immigration petitions and applications; and Provide more consistent processing times across the United States. With this realignment, we will: Have regions and districts of similar sizes; Balance workloads and workforce levels; and Have better consistency across organizational and management structures in the field. The realignment is one of many initiatives we are undertaking to improve our overall mission performance and service delivery, and it is distinct from other work we have done to adjust field office workloads and reduce processing times. New Structure Former Structure Four regions Four regions 16 districts (four in each region) 24 districts 88 field offices 88 field offices The realignment will not disrupt agency operations or affect how applicants and petitioners interact with us. If you are applying to become a recognized organization or accredited representative through the Department of Justice’s Office of Legal Access Programs, you must still submit a copy of your application to the appropriate USCIS district office.
